TV5monde

  Well, let's talk mar-ke-ting!...
If you are like me, or if I am like you (works either way), fully integrated in the society...most of the time you open a letter or an email from a company you expect it to be a bill, or, best case scenario, they promote a new service/features and they told you that it will "only cost you...whatever", right? I am sure it sounds painfuly familiar to all of us.
I watch TV5monde regularly. After I get all my news and I am up-to-date to who spits the most vitriolic remarks, uhhhh!, I need to get a doze of a more cultural information...and I have two dear channels which fill that  in my life: Public Television (Chanel 13th) and TV5monde. I love Chanel 13th and I will gladly donate money when I ll get rich, because at least they promote a great deal of arts. It comes with a price though: it's free, but be ready for endless intermezzos when they do found risings. TV5monde, on the other end, runs superb shows and movies, but sometimes I struggle with understanding. If it's not translated, I'll comprehend 50-60% of it.  Yet, I still watch it a lot.
It doesn't mean that I was in a hurry to open the letter from them, because I was sure it will ask me to extend my subscription to some additional services. It literally sat on my desk for a week, before I opened it last weekend. This shows how very well the guerrilla marketing, as it is practiced broadly today, have trained our brains and expectations.
Imagine my surprise when I open the letter to receive a $50 Gift Card from them. I read the letter twice, thinking it might be a "catch" which I am missing...But, no! I was holding a $50 card for Williams-Sonoma, a store which I greatly like, and where I have bought my furniture. Till the very moment that I spent it, I believed it's a hoax. Here is their letter and my gift card (you can click on the photo to enlarge it):

And here is the Ipad leather case that I bought with their gift card:

Many thanks TV5monde!
