You've got mail / Pride & Prejudice

In my previous post "You've Got Mail !"  I talk about my deep affection for this movie. How can someone watch a movie for 300+ times?? Well, is that simple.....each time you watch it you notice something you haven't before, and you make a new connection.....
Meg Ryan's character, in the movie, have read her favorite book "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen for 200 times. I've read the book when I was in my teenage years, when I was reading a lot of classic writers (God bless my mom, family and school I went to, for this !). The story is exquisite and the movie the Brits made later on, is.....oh, right up there with the best!!.
Only recently, seeing this perfectly edited spot on You Tube, I have came to realize what was obvious from the very beggining: that "You've Got Mail !" is the American-20th Century (note, is 1998) version of "Pride and Prejudice".
Well, no wander, as I come to realize now, that the story is such a modern classic, and has such a staying power!! It is based on one of the all time classics of English literature.
So, if my taste seemed kind of "light" at the surface, it actually turned out to have a lot of substance underneath it all.....
